Due in part to State Mental Health Reform, there is a tremendous amount of change happening within North Carolina's Behavioral Health System of Care.  As one actively involved in this system change, I've become aware of how State Reform is both positively and negatively effecting the delivery of resources to NC citizens in need of mental health, substance abuse or developmental disability information or services.

A positive change is that consumers now have more choice because there are more providers delivering more services.  However, a related problem is that consumers might not have the information they want to make an informed choice about providers as well as services.  Key to solving this issue, as well as many of the other ones, is COMMUNICATION, COMMUNICATION, and then some more COMMUNICATION

Information about many things needs to be communicated throughout the system of care.  It is the intent of  use NCSocialWorker.com to give consumers, providers, LME's and interested others web-based access to the information they need to have a successful experience with  North Carolina's Reformed Mental Health System as well as the entire System of Care in NC.

For Consumers looking for help they can use the:
